US Department of Transportation Customer Protection Guidelines.
In early 2011, the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) introduced new rules designed to enhance passenger rights and "to improve the air travel environment for consumers." A few of these rules became effective on August 23, 2011. The Supplemental Price Increase Waiver regulations went into effect January 24th and 26th, 2012.
Supplemental Price Increase Waiver.
Effective Jan 24th, all Air Tours, Cruise package or Tour package customers are required to sign a Supplemental Price Increase Waiver. Associated Travel is legally obliged to obtain this waiver, in which Customers give their written consent for Associated Travel to collect additional costs imposed by a Supplier or Government to offset increased fees, fuel surcharges, taxes, fluctuations in foreign exchange markets or any combination thereof.
